In the last three months we added new words to our vocabulary social distancing, zoom meetings, contact tracing.
We’ve exchanged cloth masks for theatre masks, waves through glass for hugs, virtual fun raisers for in person gatherings.
There have been delays and reschedules, postponements and cancellations. At the Rochester Repertory Theatre, we’ve had to postpone “Red,” “Comedy of Tenors,” and our annual fundraiser.
And now, we have made the responsible decision to postpone our production of “Evil Dead the Musical.”
The postponed productions will find new homes in a future season. Our fundraiser will be rescheduled when it is safe for us all to gather again. We will all share laughs and tears again in our intimate, 90-seat theatre.
When it is safe to do so.
However, we wanted to let you know that we have not been idle!
- We are working to reschedule our postponed shows
- We are investigating how to keep our cast, crews, audiences, and volunteers safe
- We are using this down time to make plans for remodeling our space for you
- We are making plans to bring you entertainment in a safe way….keep your eye on this website to learn more!
The box office will be closed to the public through July. Phone messages and emails will be monitored while the Rep is dark (507-289-1737 and RochesterRep@RochesterRep.org).
While we do not know what our future holds, the safety and well-being of our volunteers, artists, technicians, audience members, and supporters is always uppermost on our minds making this an unfortunate, but not a difficult, decision.
We hope that we can continue to count on you as a vital part of our theatre family and that you will join us at the theatre as soon as it is safe to do so!
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay well.
