About the Show: It’s the 1950’s in Washington DC, and two seemingly perfect, all-American couples live in perfect harmony. But beneath the surface, all four are hiding their own secrets. As their carefully constructed facades begin to crumble, their lives, and friendships, are pushed to the breaking point in this madcap comedy.

Needed: 

– 7 Actors
– Performers of all genders, races, and identities, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, are warmly welcomed and encouraged to audition

Character Breakdown

  • Norma Baxter: A government employee
  • Jim Baxter: Norma’s husband, who works for the government
  • Millie Martindale: Norma’s friend and colleague
  • Bob Martindale: Millie’s husband and a government employee
  • Kitty Sunderson: A colleague of the Baxters and Martindales and Theodore’s wife
  • Theodore Sunderson: Kitty’s husband and a government employee
  • Barbara Grant: An investigator for the government

Audition Details/Materials

  • Auditions will consist of:
    • Cold readings from the script. Memorization is NOT required 
    • Please familiarize yourself with ONE character and ONE paragraph for auditions

Important Dates:

  • Rehearsals start Jan 5th, 2026 (Final rehearsal schedule will be created once cast)
  • Performing March 6-7, 12-15 and 19-22 (10 Total Performances)
  • Actors MUST be available for all performances before auditioning
